The Ash Holes

Born in Spain, but growing up in Uruguay isn't the route for most cigar makers, but it was for La Flor Dominicana's owner Litto Gomez who released La Volcada in 2017. The cigar is named after a move in the Tango and it is said that the dance was invented in the same country that Litto grew up in, though those in Argentina will argue other wise.

The cigar follows the footsteps of other recent releases from LFD in the sense that they are limited production, which means that aren't always easy to come by. Today we will share our thoughts with you and let you know if they should be tracked down as a future dancing partner or if you should sit this one out.

For the last few weeks our own Dan Ledwith has been taking part in his civic duty. This civic duty is dreaded by many, but his time as a juror is over. Habano, Connecticut, Broadleaf are all types of tobacco we know. Casa Fernandez markets tobacco it grows on their farms as a varietal called Aganorsa. Today we welcome Terence Reilly to the show and find out what makes this Nicaraguan tobacco so special that it gets its own name.

In 2011 after leaving another cigar company, Jon Huber & Mike Condor would launch a cigar company called Crowned Heads. The initial release was named Four Kick and it was produced by Ernesto Perez Carrillo. In 2017, the company would introduce the cigar we up light up today, Four Kicks Maduro.

We have had a few cancellations due to weather, and as luck would have it another snow storm is headed toward New Hampshire. Is it in Willy Marante's DNA to brave the snow that is coming? We say yes, that the kid from Miami Cigar will do what others before him have failed!

Here in New England we are stuck in a weather pattern that has brought 3 Nor'easters in as many weeks. As we dig out from more then 2 feet of snow, we decided to take a trip the the islands in the Pacific known as Hawaii. It's a trip in spirit as we light up a cigar known the locals as Hawaiian Vintage Series. But then again we don't have to worry about bring back an idol from the caves and being haunted by bad luck.
