The King’s Teasure was a contender for Cigar of the Year last year. And what a treasure it is. It comes to us from industry veteran Robert Wright who owns Pura Soul. He spent many years working for Christian Eiroa before venturing out on his own and using the knowledge to create a cigar that is very much his own.

Since 2006, Two Guys Smoke Shop has had the Firecracker as part of the repertoire. Past makers of the Firecracker include My Father Cigars, La Flor Dominicana, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, RoMaCraft, Fratello and an ongoing production by Jose Dominguez. This year David Garofalo gave the task to Glen Case and Kristoff Cigars. The cigars went on sale June 24th, 2019 via 2GuysCigars.com and we offer our review today.

This week on The Ash Holes we smoke the LFD La Volcada. La Volcada references a step in the tango dance, which originated in Argentina and Uraguy. Litto Gomez, the founder of La Flor Dominican grew up in Uraguay. The cigar is a 7 x 48 Churchill with a pigtail. It uses a Mexican San Andres Wrapper, and Ecuadorian Corojo binder and Dominican fillers.

This week on The Ash Holes we welcome Claudio Sgroi from Mombacho Cigars . The company was founded in 2006. The name comes from a volcano in Nicaragua. Today, we will be smoking the Liga Maestro which is a Nicaraguan Puro.

It’s an iconic cigar that was almost impossible to find during the cigar boom. Even today there are periods of time where coming across the Arturo Fuente Short story can be tough. Today we fire up this cigar that features a Cameroon wrapper.

In the mid 19th Century, Jose and Eusebio, cousins and offsprings of immigrants from the Canary Islands owned a small cigar factory with about 12 employees on Macías Street of Santiago de Las Vegas, a province of Havana. That factory was the birthplace of Byron cigars. Today, the cigars are made by a descendent of the original factory owner. We light up a Byron from Nelson Alfonso’s Selected Tobacco.

We travel back in time… The year was 2012. Perdomo Cigars was celebrating their 20th Anniversary. To commemorate the milestone the company would unveil a cigar at the IPCPR trade show that  has been a staple on the shelves of retailers and a favorite of Perdomo fans everywhere. We fire up the Perdomo 20th Anniversary Maduro and share our thoughts on this cigar that features tobacco from Perdomo’s most prestigious farms.

This week on The Ash Holes we light up the La Gianna Havana Natural. The La Gianna Havana brand first came to market in 1994 and has continued non-stop ever since. Totalamente Hecho a Mano is Spanish means Totally Made by hand using tobaccos from Danli, Honduras and this is where and how La Gianna Havana cigars are born. We share our thoughts today on the La Gianna Havana which recently got a face life with new boxes and bands.
