Lighting Up Hermitage With Eric Wentworth From Hammer + Sickle
Wednesday Jun 06, 2018
Wednesday Jun 06, 2018
Today we light up a cigar named after Госуда́рственный Эрмита́ж, which is a museum in St. Petersburg, Russia. The Hermitage is all about art and culture, so today we enjoy the art of cigar making and the culture around them with Erik Wentworth from Hammer + Sickle.
Grown in volcanic soil at the base of the Andes Mountains, the authentic Ecuadorian Habano Wrapper is silky smooth. The filler and binder, often and afterthought in many cigars, are the heart of Hermitage. The binder is Honduran Criollo, with the filler a distinct mix of German and Honduran tobaccos.

Thanks to our friends over at The Cigar Authority there is one cigar in the industry that is synonymous with the donut. With National Donut Day just days aways, we decided to light up the Jose Dominguez Maduro Belicoso, as we catch up with our friend Jose Dominguez Jr.
Jose and his father are responsible for 30 million cigars produced annually which is about 1/10th of all cigars imported into the USA. It's a mind boggling number especially when you consider not many people know who this father & son team is.

We will also look at this week's top 5 list and talk about the Ash Hole Of The Week, live from Studio 21 Podcast Cafe in Salem, NH on the United Podcast Network.

Doing The La Volcada With LFD Sales Rep Stephen Poirier
Wednesday May 09, 2018
Wednesday May 09, 2018
Born in Spain, but growing up in Uruguay isn't the route for most cigar makers, but it was for La Flor Dominicana's owner Litto Gomez who released La Volcada in 2017. The cigar is named after a move in the Tango and it is said that the dance was invented in the same country that Litto grew up in, though those in Argentina will argue other wise.
The cigar follows the footsteps of other recent releases from LFD in the sense that they are limited production, which means that aren't always easy to come by. Today we will share our thoughts with you and let you know if they should be tracked down as a future dancing partner or if you should sit this one out.
We'll also look at this week's top 5 list, go Miles with Styles, and announce our AshHole of the week, all live from Studio 21 Podcast Cafe in Salem, NH on the United Podcast Network.
