Sampling the Tabernacle Havana Seed No. 142

Today we are smoking the Tabernacle Havana Seed No. 142 Corona by Foundation Cigar Co. From the Foundation Cigar website: Master blender, Nicholas Melillo, has been working with choice farmers in the Connecticut River Valley since 2014 to develop the Havana Seed CT #142 wrapper. The seed is extremely rare and unlike any other tobacco in the world. Due to the incredible amount of oil from the plant, it takes 3yrs to undergo the fermentation process. The results make for a delicious medium to full-bodied blend with hints of cedar, spice, rich earthiness and natural sweetness. The Wiseman by Foundation was our 2017 COTY. Today We Go Big with the Mi Querida Gran Buffalo

Today on the show we smoke a cigar from one of the biggest personalities in the cigar industry, so it’s only fitting we reach for the biggest size in the line. The cigar comes from Steve Saka’s Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust and today we light up the Mi Querida Gran Buffalo which measures 7 x 64 and features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler.

The Ashholes Smoke the Plasencia Alma del Campo

This week we travel down to one of the largest growers of tobacco on The Ash Holes as we broadcast live from Studio 21 Podcast Café. Plasencia started growing tobacco in Cuba where he located in 1865. In 1963 the family fled from Cuba to Mexico before landing in Nicaragua. Their tobacco is used in many different brands, but in 2017 the company began producing their own cigars.
